I am a UK based Team Operations Manager for BLAST, helping to deliver world class esports events for the world's leading game publishers. Currently my work is focused on the Rainbow Six ecosystem where I am responsible for all of the teams participating at BR6 LAN events. But I can also be found helping out for various tournaments of all sizes in an admin or referee capacity.

I am also a software engineer having graduated from Loughborough University with a Master of Science with Distinction in Computer Science. I have experience working in a large multinational retailer across several teams that focused on web development, developer experience, and continuous integration.

Team Operations Manager | Rainbow Six
BLAST

January 2025 - Present

From the start of 2025 I transitioned across from the Epic ecosystem to work as the Team Operations Manager for Rainbow Six, developed and published by Ubisoft.

Although my overall responsibilities are the same as my previous role, transitioning to a new ecosystem presents it's own set of new challenges, especially as the Rainbow Six and Epic ecosystems operate under very different philosophies.

Team Operations Coordinator | Fortnite & Rocket League
BLAST

April 2024 - Present

Starting from RLCS 2024 - Major 2: London I joined BLAST as the Team Operations Coordinator for Fortnite and Rocket League for the remainder of the 2024 FNCS and RLCS seasons. Before each event the role is event prep and during the event the role is a Lead Player Manager role.

The responsibilities of Team Operations Coordinator include:

• Communicating with teams before the event to collect information for internal use as well as sharing key information to teams they require for the event

• Acting as the bridge between internal departments to players and teams

• Taking lead on managing player hotel rooming lists and player ground transport for events• Supporting our travel team with the player flight booking process

• Planning player signing session schedules

• Managing and expanding a network of freelance Player Managers to hire for events


During the events my responsibilities as Lead Player Manager additionally include:

• Leading the on-site Player Management team at events

• Having overall responsibility for all player and team movements during all stages of an event

• Acting as the central link between the teams and players, and internal BLAST departments and publishers

• Supporting the execution of media day schedules

• Escalation point for and player and team issues

 

RLCS Admin
EFG / BLAST

October 2021 - Present

For the past 2 years I have been an RLCS match admin for both the EU and MENA regions. As well as the NA region during some splits. As well as being a match and stage admin at the RLCS Fall 2021-22 - Stockholm Major. My responsibilities as part of this role included:

• Make sure players and teams act in accordance with the tournament rules and that matches are played out within the rules.

• Make impartial decisions related to match disputes, such as when disconnects occur.

• Liaise issues and match status with production teams and the regional manager to make sure the broadcast and event run smoothly.

• Help resolve technical issues quickly in a time-sensitive and high-pressure environment.

Player Manager & Tournament Admin

June 2022 - December 2024

Currently I freelance in both player management and tournament admin for events. I am comfortable across multiple game titles and tournament formats. This work typically covers the following responsibilities:

• Coordinate between multiple staff teams to ensure player obligations are met.

• Work as part of a team to ensure players needs are met during the duration of the event. From the moment they arrive to the event, to the moment they leave afterwards.

• Take responsibility for the completion of tasks for clients and stakeholders at events.

• Various tournament admin duties such as: score reporting, generating and running tournament brackets, set up and tear down of tournament equipment.

Technology Manager
UniRocketeers

July 2020 - September 2024

UniRocketeers is an organisation that deliver Rocket League tournaments in the European university space. I am responsible for implementing technical solutions to meet various organisation requirements ranging from websites, to broadcast solutions.

I also perform match admin and tournament operation work for various events that are organised. Some of my work includes:

• Design and develop our overlay control system used for all our broadcasts, and to dynamically generate social media graphics.

• Work closely with the broadcast manager, to help create broadcast package for numerous events.

• Independently explore solutions to further our existing product
technically. Examples of this could by Hype Chamber integration into the broadcasts.

• Create solutions to technical problems in a live environment, such as debugging and fixing dynamic overlays during a broadcast.

• Set up and manage tools to help our moderation team with community management.

• Overseeing qualifier brackets on start.gg, and acting as match admin during main events.

Graduate Software Engineer

September 2022 - September 2023

During my year at M&S I worked on two different teams. On the first team I worked on replatforming key pages of the M&S website from an older framework to React. The second team focused on supporting the monorepo platform that many business applications were developed on. An overview of my responsibilities and experience included: 

• Developing, testing, and maintaining functionality on business critical pages of the M&S website, seeing 1+ million visitors per day.

• Ensuring aspects of the key pages were in-line with Figma designs.

• Developing, testing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to bring code changes live to production as quickly as possible.

• Reducing release pipeline duration and improving reliability, to improve developer experience and reduce costs, while improving DORA metrics.

• Worked with with a range of technologies, including: React, Next.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, Jest, Nx, Emotion, Git, Github Actions, Azure, Storybook, NewRelic, and Jira.

Rocket League Product Manager
NUEL

October 2020 - June 2022

NUEL is a UK university esports tournament organiser. During my time at NUEL I oversaw the Rocket League product at NUEL after several seasons of it's absence, helping to achieve high net promoter scores and raise the number of particpants and broadcast quality comapred to previous NUEL Rocket League events. My responsibilities included: 

• Managing all aspects of a weekly 130+ team University Rocket League tournament.

• Helping to organise and execute third party partnership activations, such as LAN productions at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London.

• Creating social media posts and broadcast clips to engage with the student community alongside the marketing manager.

• Coordinate with the broadcast manager the hiring of freelancers for the broadcast.

• Build and manage a strong group of admins to help deliver the tournament.

• Operate NUEL’s Rocket League tournaments on game nights and remain impartial when making tough decisions.

• Be the point of contact for students playing in the tournament.
